In our first year of operation we raised and paid out over $140,000. That money went towards multiple collaborations with over 40 working artists. We worked with Dartmouth College, Lincoln Center, Soho Rep, Anti-Gravity Academy, Mabou Mines, Goblin Brain and Joe’s Pub to bring audiences into the development of egg and The Potluck. We created two music videos, and shared both egg and The Potluck in concert at Dartmouth and Lincoln Center.
This year we are producing a gallery exhibition and four unique performances at A.P.E. gallery, launching a full production of The Elementary Spacetime Show with Montclair State University, releasing the concept album for The Potluck, and working hard to bring The Potluck to its World Premiere off-Broadway.
In order to make all of this happen, we need to raise $325,000.

Why give?
-
✽
Our material is togetherness - We believe that many of the problems we are facing as humans begin at culture. Our work seeks to generate the conversations and transformations that can incite change inside individuals and their relationships.
-
✽
New Model for Musical Theater – While many theaters are downsizing or closing, Spirits Go Blah is a vehicle for six aesthetically and thematically radical new musicals. Supporting this work feeds our field and all of the artists involved.
-
✽
Critical Conversations – Our projects tackle questions that are at sharp end of many socio-political conflicts — The work seeks to generate proposals and new thought in and around gender, sexuality, political economy, queer futures, spiritual recovery, teen suicidality and state-sanctioned white supremacy.
-
✽
Be Part of Something – your donation will bring you directly into the community and conversation around this work. Our early audiences and supporters form the crucial community of thought in which the work is rooted. We cannot grow the art without your participation.
-
✽
Incubator for Six Major Works – Donations directly fuel the multi-year development of six interconnected musicals, plus concurrent gallery exhibitions, albums, and films — ensuring these artworks can reach the widest possible audience and make the biggest impact.

Direct Impact on Artists’ Lives – Contributions support a broad community of collaborators — We are seeking to create experimental art while paying artists fairly, supporting parent artists, modeling shared leadership, and creating a culture in the company and beyond where art and artists are valued.
